Hollywood Hits Broadwaywas held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel's Grand

awareness and as a celebration in honor of Jay Monahan, her late husband, who died in 1998 of colorectal
cancer at the age of 42. The November 12th fundraiser raised $5
million to help create the Jay
Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Healthat New York-Presbyterian Hospital -

ongoing support to EIF's National Colorectal Cancer
Research Alliance (NCCRA).
Katie Couric was described as "overwhelmed" by the incredible array of
stars - from film, television, Broadway and the music industry - who
volunteered to perform at the benefit. In appreciation, celebrities were given
gift bags as a small gesture for their generous donation of time
and energy, from early rehearsals to the night of the show. All
