57th Annual Golden Globe Awards
Beverly Hills, California
January 23, 2000
Cute and quirky. Sexy and sophisticated. Super talented Reese Witherspoon can do it all. Reese made her big screen debut at the age of 14 in 1991's The Man in the Moon.  She starred in a couple more family-oriented movies, A Far Off Place and Jack the Bear, before moving into more mainstream movies, including Pleasantville with Tobey Maguire and Cruel Intentions, which co-starred her future husband, Ryan Phillippe. Reese and Ryan were married June 5, 1999 and their first child, Ava Marie, was born 9/9/99.

The Internet Movie Database has a biography and interesting quotes from Reese that are worth a look. Be sure to catch 1999's Election, an entertaining film that garnered multiple awards and nominations ~ including Best Actress recognition for Reese, an award that may again be possible for her Legally Blonde bombshell, which debuted at #1 following it's July 14,  2001 arrival in theaters. Former Wilhemina model Lorraine Bracco's role on The Sopranos has earned her multiple Golden Globe and Emmy nominations (1999, 2000, and 2001). In addition to her role on The Sopranos, Lorraine will soon be seen in the films Tangled and Riding In Cars With Boys. The former wife of Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Keitel, Lorraine is now married to Edward James Olmos and is the sister-in-law of Aidan Quinn.  Also see: Lorraine Bracco at the 2001 Golden Globe Awards

Who IS this guy??

Michael Clarke Duncan, wearing a Versace tuxedo, towered over our Teen Editor Juli DeJanvier
Michael Clarke Duncan is relatively new to Hollywood and has to be the celebrity who most appreciates his new fame.  After moving from Chicago's South Side to Hollywood in the early 90's, Michael eventually got a few minor film roles (usually as a bouncer or bodyguard, pretty much what he was doing in his day-jobs). Things started to change for Michael in 1997 & 1998, when he appeared in Bulworth and the cheese-fest, A Night at the Roxbury (as a bouncer in both films ... again), but these roles led to his being cast in Armageddon and eventually, The Green Mile. Michael's portrayal of John Coffey earned him Best Supporting Actor nominations from several major organizations, including:  the Academy Awards; Academy of Science Fiction, Horror & Fantasy Films; Blockbuster Entertainment Awards; Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards; Chicago Film Critics Association Awards; Golden Globe Awards; Image Awards; MTV Movie Awards; Online Film Critics Society Awards; and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Michael considers it a gift to be recognized by fans. We say it's a gift to be the person doing the recognizing. Michael is easily one of the most exuberant actors around and one who truly appreciates his fame. It may be a cliche, but his smile really lights up a room.  Michael can be heard in the summer hit Cats and Dogs with Tobey Maguire and is currently working on Planet of the Apes.
